Kirby Vacuum
The Kirby vacuum has earned the reputation of being one of the toughest and strongest built vacuums in the world. Designed with features to handle all of your floor care needs, these all in one powerful, functional machines are able to clean both carpeted and hardfloor surfaces such as hardwood, tile and linoleum. Additional features include; HEPA filter, self-propelled and adjustable height, they also offer a wide assortment of attachments including a shampooer. Kirby vacuums are built to last but with this comes additional weight making it one of the heaviest vacuum cleaners on the market today; some find it difficult to maneuver around the house.
Kirby Diamond Edition is the latest in the line of Kirby models; this improved self propelled machine allows for ease of operation as the powerful suction removes deep-down embedded dirt. The soft rotating brushrolls thoroughly clean carpet without causing damage to the carpet fibers, the adjustable height adjustment also helps increase cleaning efficiency on both carpeting and hardfloor surfaces. Other features found on the Kirby vacuum, Diamond Edition include: surface nozzle, upholstery nozzle, dust brush, wall/ceiling brush, crevice tool, portable sprayer, suction control grip, massage cup, extension wands and extension hose. It also has the unique feature of converting from an upright vacuum to a canister vacuum making it easier to clean wall, ceilings and upholstery.
Approximately every 2-5 years a new Kirby vacuum cleaner is introduced to the market improving upon performance and features of its predecessors. Prior to the Diamond Edition was the Ultimate G which came out in the late 90’s. Prior to this was the Generation series which started in the late 80’s and ran to the late 90's, it included the Generation 3, 4, 5, and 6 models.
Your parents may remember those visits by the door to door vacuum cleaner salespeople, who at the very least where aggressive. So much so that the Kirby vacuum cleaner has undergone a fair amount of negative press, not so much from how the vacuum performs, but more due to tactics incorporated by the salespeople. Today though there are many more options; search EBay for used models, or continue your search on the internet as some companies purchase new models from dealers who are overstocked and offer a substantial discount.
