How to Clean Carpet Stains - Milk or Ice Cream
To help with your specific cleaning needs such as cleaning carpet stains caused by ice cream or milk, we offer some simple techniques that you can use on your carpet. Many of the approaches that show you how to clean carpet stains are relatively simple but there are some important steps that should be followed.
When treating carpet stains caused by milk or ice cream first apply a quality stain remover directly to the effected area. Using a brush, often included with the stain remover, tap the affected area repeatedly to get the solution deep down into the fibers. Follow this up by blotting the carpet with a clean white cloth. Next rinse the area with cold clean water and gently blot up the excess moisture with a clean white cloth. Finally dry the area with a hair dryer using a circular motion, make sure to set the dryer to blow cool air (do not use heat).
You can use the above approach on most dairy product stains. It is important to remember not to scrub the carpet as this will separate the carpet fibers which may result in permanent damage. If the area improves but you are still left with stain markings, repeat the above process. Let the carpet thoroughly dry between each cleaning.
